weekends in charleston

I spent most of my weekend recovering from a mad sunburn, taking a walk on basendorff by myself and hanging out with my parents in the charleston vicinity.

One of my African violets that my mom grew from a leaf

kelp time on basendorff
Bull kelp has wavy leaves to create more current and absorb more nutrients for its annual growth. Plus it's really quite pretty.
Some red seaweed growing on the holdfast of the bull kelp. They create homes for a plethora of sea creatures.
